Shanghai:
Silport welcomed a very important and influential guest when Korean
LPGA boss Hong Xigui paid a visit to the club as the guest of
manufacturing giant Samsung Inc.
Before teeing off on the Championship Course, Hong
revealed that he had heard a lot about Silport. He said he wished
that the upcoming Volvo China Open, the first event of the 2005
European Tour season, would be a great success. Coming from South
Korea, a country where golf is very popular and flourishing, Hong
spoke highly of the facilities and services of Silport. He was
pleased to know that many Koreans working in Shanghai had become
members of the club.
With China and Korea¡¯s close proximity to each other,
Hong said more and more Koreans were wanting to come to China
to play golf. In addition, he hoped that more Chinese would go
to Korea to play and therefore, the connection between the two
countries¡¯ golf clubs and associations will become closer.
Hong said it was inevitable that such outstanding
clubs as Tiger Beach Golf Links and Shanghai Silport would attract
Korean members and undoubtedly there will be more with the two
countries close economic ties. He hoped all Silport members would
have the opportunity to visit Korea and experience any one of
the country¡¯s more than 125 golf courses. |
