Shanghai:
Coo Liansoong, President of China Trust Financial Holding Co Ltd,
took the Silport experience when a group of influential Taiwanese
businessmen in the fields of commerce and industry visited Shanghai
during a four-day stay.
At the invitation of the Shanghai Metropolitan Industry
& Economy Association, the 50 businessmen arrived in the city
on October 14th. All the group members were part of the ¡°3-3-Club,¡±
the biggest industrial union in Taiwan. Its membership consists
of corporations whose sales are greater than 20 billion New Taiwan
dollars (US$635 million) annually. Most of the member companies
have investment in the Chinese mainland.
Luo Shiqian, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Government,
and Feng Guoqing, Shanghai Vice Mayor, hosted a banquet for the
tourists. Luo said he believed that economic ties between Shanghai
and Taiwan would continue to grow closer, meeting the demands
of Shanghai¡¯s economic development. Meanwhile, all departments
and ministries under the Shanghai Government would make continuous
effort to create a better investment environment for Taiwanese
investors. He wished that all the business tourists could provide
helpful advice and suggestions to improve the economic ties between
the two.
Coo also attended the opening ceremony of
the Chinatrust Hotel in Kunshan, a facility that was invested
by CTFH. During his afternoon at Silport, he played golf with
the chief of the Taiwanese Association in Kunshan, Lin Bofeng.
He said he felt very pleased to tee off with a Taiwan entrepreneur
and expressed his appreciation of the Silport layout. He said
if he had the chance to visit Shanghai next time, he would surely
visit Silport again. |
