SILPORT SISTER WU DOMINATES 2008 LADIES¡¯ CHALLENGE

 

Shanghai: Wu Xingqiong, one of the best players among the Silport membership, regardless of gender, dominated the club¡¯s 2008 Ladies¡¯ Challenge as she topped the field of 38 international players with a sparkling round of five-over 77.

Playing under the New Peoria scoring system over the East and Center course configuration, in addition to the low gross, Wu, a 2.4 handicap, also claimed the nearest-the-pin prize honor when she put her ball to within 1.5 feet of the flag on the club¡¯s Center Course No. 8 signature hole.

Other star performances on the overcast day saw 20.4 handicap Lee Youn-wha shoot a 92 to for a nett 71.7 to claim the low nett prize, just ahead of Tung Yang-soon (nett 71.8) and Li Taiji (nett 72.6). Also recognized was Yang Sunlin who blasted her tee shot 225 yards on the East ninth for the long drive prize, and Liu Hui-lin who won the BB prize.

Fantastic prizes such as products from Justar and airline tickets from Kumho Tires, as well as a year¡¯s membership to Silport, were on offer for a hole-in-one on various holes but went unclaimed.
