Myanmar's Kyi Hla Han won the US$72,000 prize in 1999 Volvo China
Open. His triumph proved to be the spark that ignited the best
ever season of his career as he got into fifth gear to eventually
capture the Davidoff Tour Order of Merit title with a record US$204,210
earned in a single year. The 39-year-old Myanmar's player,
known as the Little Big Man, made five birdies in his final round
and finished at 15-under-par 273. His outstanding performance
not only mesmerized the rest of the field but also the whole of
China's booming golfing community.
