Shanghai: After getting snowed out the previous month, the Silport Monthly Medal returned with a vengeance in March with some intense competition over the Center and East course layouts.
The strength of the club¡¯s mainland players was evident as Hua Liang carded a nett 72.7 to take the Group A honor, just ahead of Zhang Yin (nett 74.3). In Group B, Hae Han topped the table with a nett 79.5. Despite her outstanding performance, since the Korean-American had won one of the monthly medals in the January event, mainlander Rex Chiang, the runner-up, was named the group winner with a nett score of 80.2.
Also among the winners that day were Taiwan¡¯s Johnny Chen who claimed the longest drive on the East No. 9, and fellow Taiwanese Benjamin Tuan who had the nearest-the-pin on the Center No. 8. Peter Koo was the lucky draw prize-winner.
The monthly nett champion and first runner-up of each division qualify for the year-end Monthly Medal finale.
