Shanghai: The first big tournament after the cold winter attracted an enthusiastic field of swingers as 106 Silport members and their guests contested the 2008 Spring Membership Invitational.

Playing over the club’s East and Center course layouts, Qin Guorong topped the field when he shot an impressive five-over 77 to claim the low gross title. Other honors saw Chen Qinglong (72) pip Chen Guoying (72.6) for the low nett title, while Li Liyun was the top woman with a nett 73. Other outstanding performances saw Ma Qiyang win a long drive prize with a blast of 260 yards on the East No. 9 hole, while Yorita Satoshi also won with a 250-yard drive on the Center No. 3. Nearest-the-pin prizes went to Xu Liwei who put his shot to within 18 inches on the East No. 3 and Sekiguchi Isao on the Center No. 2.
