Shanghai: With the year-end cup to determine the first Silport club champion only a few months away, the September monthly medal attracted an enthusiastic group of 34 players ready to sharpen their competitive edge in the run-up to the final.

Playing under cloudy skies over the West and North layouts, as has become the custom to ensure a safe playing field, the players all underwent the now-traditional warm-up to avoid any potential injury while on the course.
The stretching proved the trick for Japanese member Ikeda Hiroyoshi as the 12 handicap shot a round of nine-over 81 to win the championĄ¯s honor for Group A. Countryman Uno Takayuki, the winner of both the longest drive and the nearest-the-pin prizes, was runner-up following an 83.
The Group B competition showcased the talents of SilportĄ¯s European members as Jurgen Fritz shot a 91 to claim the top honor, followed by Werner Hickel four shots off the pace.

Other honors saw Hiromu Fujisono, Katagiri Hirosi, Ito Hitodhi, Iinuma Yoshikazu and Zhu Guoqi each win a lucky draw.
As several of the September winners had already qualified for the year-end cup through earlier medal competitions, Hiroyoshi, Yokio, Fritz, Fujisono and Kiyoshi Arakawa all advanced to the final.
