Shanghai: A limited turnout of 30 players for the October monthly medal during the China National Day holiday week proved an advantage for some Silport members as they booked their spots for the December finale that will determine the first club champion.

Playing under sunny skies over the East and Center courses, Kong Qi emerged as the nett champion of Group A with a nett 71, just ahead of South Korea¡¯s Park In-seop (nett 73), who took away the longest drive prize as a consolation with a blast of 260 yards.
In Group B, a tighter battle ensued as club member Wang Jian, playing in his first monthly medal, shot a nett 70 to top the group. Japan¡¯s Tadashi Noda was runner-up with a nett 71. As Noda had previously qualified for the final, Liu Fei, the second runner-up, advanced to the year-end cup.
Others recognized for their outstanding play included Hirokazu Takabayashi who won the nearest the pin with a shot within five feet of flag, and Sun Jen-ho who qualified for the final through a lucky draw.
