Shanghai: Nevermind that the competition to decide the inaugural Silport club champion is only a month away, club members are taking this historic event seriously as evident by the November monthly medal.

With a constant drizzle falling throughout the day over the West and North courses, the November medal attracted a field of about 30 players, many of whom had already secured their place for the grand final. With employees of the Foxconn Group dominating the field, Michael Ma, who had already qualified, won the nett champion of Group A with a nett 69. Instead, the 15 handicap had to make do with winning the longest drive with a mighty blast of 240 yards as Yang Jingming, the fourth-place finisher, advanced to the final.
Similarly in Group B, nett champion Caesar Chen (67) had earlier pre-qualified but salvaged the day in taking the nearest-the-pin prize when he put his ball to eight feet of the flag. As it was, Iinuma Yoshikazu, the seventh-place finisher, advanced.
Margarete Fritz also advanced to the final through a lucky draw.
