hanghai: The 2009 ¡°Zeiss-Baodao Cup¡±, this year¡¯s moniker for the Silport Spring Membership Invitational with the abundance of sponsors participating, attracted a healthy turnout for the annual tournament as a field of about 130 players contested the event.

Playing over the Centre and East courses under a New Peoria scoring format, Emilie Pebreuil proved the star player on the overcast day as the France native shot an impressive five-over-par 77 to emerge gross champion. Pebreuil, a 3.6 handicap who has been playing golf for about 10 years, showed her strength off the tee as she won both long-drive prizes with a 300-yard blast on the Center Course ninth hole, followed by a 290-yard drive on the East Course ninth.
He Xiaohua, a 10.8 handicap, easily won the low nett when he shot an 81 for a nett 70.2, well ahead of runner-up Kuze Kenichi (87) at nett 71.4. Sun Yumei claimed the women¡¯s nett champion prize after the 18 handicap shot a 92 for a nett 74.
Others honored on the day included Ko Chen-huang and Qin Guorong who each won a nearest-the-pin prize.
Nearly everyone participating in the tournament received a prize with the abundance of sponsors supporting the event. Among the companies taking part were Aurora, Golf Channel, Nike, Ecco, Pro-Simon and BaoDao eyeglasses, among others.
