Big-Hitter Hiroyoshi Demonstrates Driving Power to Win

Silport April Monthly Medal

Shanghai: Ikeda Hiroyoshi proved the dominant player at the Silport Monthly Medal for April when the Japanese member emerged as both the Group A nett champion and the long-drive winner.

Playing over the East and Center course configuration under sunny and warm conditions, the 15-handicap carded a round of 84 for a nett 69, just ahead of Tu Ye Weilin who shot 81 for a nett 70. Hiroyoshi added to his haul when he executed a 250-yard blast on the Center Course ninth hole for the long-drive prize, best among the 48-man field.

Along with Hiroyoshi, C.C. Chen booked his place for the year-end Grand Monthly Medal when he beat runner-up Noda Tadashi for the Group B crown on a count-back as both players finished with a nett 68.

Also recognized was Dong Weijun who claimed the nearest-the-pin prize when he put his tee shot to within three feet of the flag on the East Course third hole.

During the prize presentation in the second floor VIP Room, new Silport General Manager David Chen was on hand to greet the players, along with fellow newcomer Imai Yasushi, a management department consultant.

As the participants enjoyed a Chinese buffet, Okuda Makoto was on hand to witness his name being called in the lucky draw to earn a place in the Grand Monthly Final. Lu Xueyuan also received a pair of ECCO shoes after emerging the victor among seven lucky draw winners.

As its title implies, the monthly medal is a competition strictly for Silport members. All club members are welcome to participate in this event designed to bring players together in a competitive situation. We look forward to seeing you at the May Medal.
