 Silport members got in one last chance for the Grand Monthly Medal when a field of 40 players braved the cold weather to contest the December Monthly Medal.
As the last qualifying round for next weekĄ¯s Grand Monthly Medal, Zhang Zhengwen proved the best of the field as the five-handicap registered an impressive 74 over the East and Center course configuration to claim the nett champion of Group A honor. James Tu (84), the Group A runner-up, made it a memorable day when he also won the nearest-the-pin title on the Center Course eighth hole after he put his tee shot to within 3 feet of the flag.
Yoshioka Kazuhiko emerged the Group B nett champion when the 19 handicap shot a 90 for a nett 71, just ahead of Li Li Yun who carded a 93 for a nett 73. Ko Hui Ho was also honored with the long-drive prize, a 270-yard blast on the East Course ninth hole.
As the players enjoyed a buffet meal of winter dishes made especially by the chef, it was announced Li Zhuang would also play in the Grand Monthly Medal after his name was pulled in a lucky draw.
