On October 20, despite autumn rain, Shanghai
Silport Golf Club (SSGC) is still packed with players and guests.
The United East Automobile Trading Company held its first ever invitational
tournament at the tournament seasoned SSGC and offered free testing
of its Audi A-8. This event was covered by close to 30 media groups.
The president of Audi was on site for the tournament and interviews.
Though the new Audi A-8 is not an unusual face in China, but testing
the new vehicle at SSGC is the first. Not only is the enormous efforts

the media attention, but also the use of an invitational tournament
as an advertising campaign with the unique background of SSGC as
a seasoned tournament host greatly contributes to the media buzz.
Using SSGC as a platform to lure high end customers and building
a youthful image of Audi are the newest thinking behind the Audi
Golf Invitational.
As a part of the tournament prize, Audi provided the Audi TT as
a hole-in-one prize. Despite many efforts, no player was fortunate
enough to get it. However, this demonstrated Audi’s commitment
to making the event a success
At the award ceremony dinner, a series of images of the tournament
and the Audi products was projected onto the whiteboards, adding
ambiance to the dinner. The president of Audi and the General Manager
of Sales in China gave their thanks to the participants and handed
out the awards. Audi also surprised SSGC’s chairman, Beta
Soong, by presenting him an Audi model as an appreciation to SSGC’s
support and cooperation to the event.
