Shanghai:
The Shanghai Silport Golf Club hosted an influential group of
business people recently when 143 players teed off for the Qingpu
Foreign Invested Companies Friendship Invitational tournament.
The players were representatives of companies located in the Shanghai
Qingpu Industrial Zone, one of the municipal industrial zones
approved by the Shanghai Municipal Government. The zone is located
in southwest Shanghai, adjacent to Jiangsu and Zhejiang Province. |

Its main industries are modern agriculture, chemicals, light industry,
foodstuff, electronic, textiles and machinery.
Among the special guests at the event were Mr Yang Jin Song, Vice
Mayor of Qingpu District, and several other government officials
who participated in the tee off ceremony. The VIPS were only there
as onlookers but took a keen interest in golf and how it is often
used as an informal method for conducting business.
Ms. Shi Dan was the winner of the low gross award when she shot
a three-over-par 75. The 4.8 handicap also won the low nett award
but she was limited to winning the low gross prize only.
Ms.Sun Yu was awarded the low nett award as the 24 handicap shot
a gross 96 for a nett 72.
