“The people we invited here are all
high-level management people, our VIP customers,” said Antony
Yu Xinghua, Siemens (Shanghai) public relations manager. “A
golf course is a place they want to come. They don’t want
to go to a five-star hotel, they like something like golf that
is more casual and suits their style.”
Wu Xugen was someone who wanted to be there as the 3.6 handicap
shot a 76 to take the low gross honor. He
also won one of two closest-to-the-pin holes. Lu Wenxu, a single
handicap, was runner-up with a four-over 76.
Cai Jinyi, a 28.8 handicap, took the low net prize with a net
71.2. Lin Qingtong was runner-up with a net 72 on a handicap of
36.
“This tournament gave me a chance to
test Shanghai Silport’s famous greens,” Wu.said. “Normally
I use three putts on the green when I am having bad luck. Today
I had one with five putts! I was really happy to feel the difficulty
of this famous course.”
At the prize presentation the players had the chance to see Siemens’
latest product, the next generation S57 mobile phone. The state-of-the-art
Tri-Band handset incorporates Multi Media Messaging (MMS) with
such features as a color display screen and an extended organizer.
It can also be hooked up to a Quickpic Camera IQP-500 to display
photos and add music.
“This tournament was an important occasion

Jia, China Mobile marketing manager. “We wanted an informal
setting to get to know the needs of our high-end VIPs and show
them the new services we can supply right now in wireless data,
MMS, call conferencing and international short messages.”
