Shanghai: ABN AMRO¡¯s golf tournament to entertain its tops clients
and associates, turned into a celebration of Wang Yanguo as the
securities boss captured a staggering four prizes on the day for
his golfing prowess.
Playing on Silport¡¯s Championship layout from a shotgun start,
Wang, the president of Dongwu Securities Company, topped the 60-man
field when the 25.2 handicap shot 100, a score that turned out
to be good enough to win the nett runner-up prize. He would return
to the stage on three other occasions for the longest drive, nearest-the-pin
and even the lucky draw honors.
Among the other prizes on offer, Sean Chok successfully defended
his ABN AMRO title from 2004 when he carded a seven-over 79 for
the low gross honor. Mike Deaton who also won a longest drive
prize, finished first runner up after a round of 82. Huang Hui
was second runner up with a gross 88.
Duan Jian, a 16.8 handicap, won the low nett honor after a round
of 91 for a nett 74.2, followed by runner-up Wang and second runner
up Shen Hong.
Song Chengli also claimed a long drive prize.
Peter Kwok, president of ABN AMRO (China Region) said the golf
party was an excellent activity for the Fortune 500 company to
entertain its top clients and to enhance the friendships that
the bank has developed over the years.
