Shanghai: The Silport Best Partner Cup, the second membership tournament of the year, attracted a strong field of 40 couples, or 80 players, to this unique event which was being contested for a sixth consecutive year.

    Playing over the Center and East course layouts under sunny and dry conditions, the tournament was contested under a two-ball, better-ball format with one male and one female player. In addition, a cooperation prize was also on offer to the team who recorded the lowest number of putts.

    Long-time Silport member Chen Zhangning used his course knowledge to good effect when the Taiwanese teamed with guest Li Ningna to top the field with a gross 66. Liu Feng and Chen Jing finished runner up a shot back, while Zhang Hongjian and Gong Jian were third.

    Sun Hongxin proved the other big winner on the day as he captured the cooperation prize with partner Feng Lingling on the strength of 24 putts. He also captured one of the two nearest-the-pin prizes along with Zhou Xueqin. Huang Wuwei and Li Hui finished second in the cooperation contest with 26 putts, with Liu Dezong and Qian Yingfu in third.

    Other honors saw the stylish twosome of Liu Dekai and Yuan Xiaoxin win the best-dressed prize, while Huang Haidi and Tong Xiaofang each claimed a longest drive.

    Following the golf, the players repaired to the upstairs dining room to enjoy a meal and the prize ceremony as a pianist entertained the crowd with the music of Chopin. A special thanks goes out to Shanghai Golf Show for its co-sponsorship of the event.
