The American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai
4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai held its 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on September 22. This was one of two charity golf tournaments staged locally within the month, the other being the 2006 Mercedes-Benz Charity Golf Challenge.

The weather was gracious, which allowed the players to tee off under good skies and cool weather, fueling their enthusiasm and charitable good spirits. The tournament also featured special putting and chipping challenge games, with all the event¡¯s proceeds going to the Shanghai Angel Networks program for migrant children¡¯s healthcare.

The worthy cause attracted the attention of a considerable number of chamber members, who played the course and participated the ¡°Beat the Pro¡± game, which was deemed the most exciting of the sideline activities. Scotsman Michael Dickie, the instructor at Shanghai Silport David Leadbetter Golf Academy, took on all comers, and his professional skills earned the praise of every player present. Eventually, the team led by Jay Hoenig won first place. Steven Robinson¡¯s team came in first runner-up, followed by the team of Joe Dorrian. The prizes for longest drive went to Gao Ding Gui and Barbara Jobb, who also won a nearest-to-the-pin prize at the east.course¡¯s No. 3 hole. Francis Cui and Terri Lau were both prizewinners as well.

The president of the American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, Brenda Lei Foster, hosted the event in its entirety and later invited Silport Chairman Beta Soong to the stage as she expressed her sincere thanks to the Silport team for its tremendous support of the memorable event.
