SECURITIES EXECUTIVES GET SOLIDARITY AT SILPORT

Shanghai: At a time when Asian stock markets have been soaring to record levels, members of the local finance community took time out from their busy schedules when Silport hosted the Orient Securities Cup-Shanghai Securities Elites¡¯ Golf Invitational.

There was a notable buzz among the 48-man field as the players from 13 local securities groups were excited to find out that they would be playing on the club¡¯s Center and East courses, the same configuration that had hosted the Volvo China Open earlier in the year. The overall idea of the tournament was to create solidarity among the players through golf. There was also an added challenge to the day when each of the groups attempted to beat Silport¡¯s resident professional Michael Dickie in a single hole ¡°Beat the Pro¡± competition.

Starting at noon from a shotgun start the Orient Securities Group No. 2 topped the field when the four players registered a combined winning score of 348. Orient Securities¡¯ Jin Wenzhong claimed the most birdies prize with an impressive three birdies on the day.
