Shanghai: China Merchants Bank hosted the final event of its Shanghai pre-qualifying for its season-long national series when 120 players teed off over Silport’s West and North courses. Cai Sugang topped the field when he shot a 10-over 82 for the low gross honor. Weng Shengting was the runner-up with an 86, followed by Wang Laizhuang. The top 25 scores advanced to the next round on March 21 in Beijing.

In the nett category, Li Yong (72.8) won, followed by Li Jiangbin (72.8) and Sun Hongxing (74). Yang Shanying finished top among the ladies with a gross 97. Overshadowing the serious competition was a hole-in-one by Shang Huaile on the North Course third hole. For his amazing feat he received an MG1.8TF sports car.
