Shanghai: Silport members Li Liyun and Chen Guoying put in a solid showing at the 2008 Audi Quattro Cup Golf Invitational held over the North and East courses as the married couple used their extensive course knowledge to finish runner-up in the 78-player field.

Playing in foursome two balls under the New New-Peoria format, Li Liyun proved the dominant player of the day. In addition to winning the ladies longest drive honor, she helped her team accumulate 38 points to finish just behind the champions Huang Haidi and Sun Yingjie who topped the table with 39 points.

On a day that started out cloudy, wet and windy before turning into sunny skies, other honors saw Zhang Fangyan claim the men’s longest drive prize and Sun Hongxing the nearest the pin. An Audi A6L was on offer for a hole in one but the luxury prize went unclaimed.

The event was the fourth time in five years that the German automaker had held the Quattro Cup at Silport. Over the next six months, Audi will hold 43 similar tournaments nationwide before determining a China country champion. The Silport group champion now advances to the final.
