Shanghai: Munsingwear Golf Club and Concierge magazine celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival holiday in style when it hosted 92 of its members and customers for a day of golf at Silport.
Playing over the West and North course layouts under cloudy conditions, the golf day marked the second time the Shanghai Munsingwear Golf Club Concierge Cup had been staged at Silport in recent times. The field was largely made up of Japanese. ZH customers were also represented.
Playing under a New Peoria scoring format, K. Odagawa topped the field when the six-handicap shot an eight-over-par 80 to win the gross champion title. K. Kanatsuka was runner-up three shots off the pace, while T. Komatsu was second runner-up a shot further back.
Wang Jiangsheng, the winner of the nearest-the-pin prize on the West Course seventh hole, helped to avoid a Japanese sweep when the local man, a 19.2 handicap, shot an 89 for a nett 69.8 and the low nett honor. K. Kanatsuka, the gross runner-up, claimed the nett runner-up (nett 70), while M. Iwamoto (nett 70.2) was second runner-up.
Other nearest-the-pin prizes saw K. Tanaka win on the North sixth hole, and K. Sasaki on the West 11th hole.
