Kunshan Golf Club ¡®President Cup¡¯ Invitational a Washout at Silport

Shanghai: They say people who work in the golf industry are those who actually play the least amount of golf. The Kunshan Golf Club¡°President Cup¡± Invitational proved this theory true.

On a day when 45 players, all presidents and directors at golf clubs in and around Kunshan in Jiangsu province, gathered at Silport, the weather proved the hot topic as relatively cool conditions, rain and high winds forced play to suspend after only nine holes under the New New Peoria scoring format.

Following a training session with Silport head professional Michael Dickie and his team of top instructors from the Shanghai Silport David Leadbetter Golf Academy, the players teed off under a shotgun start. The weather, however, quickly turned worse, forcing play to be cut.

Despite the inclement conditions the camaraderie among the participants could not be dampened as a good time was the order at the evening party. With the scores incomplete, the event, which had been organized to foster cooperation between Silport and golf teams and clubs in Kunshan, decided the winners through a lucky draw format.

¡°Lao Shu,¡± the team with players who garnered the most lucky draw ballots, was named the gross champion, while the ¡°Chang Qin¡± team was the nett champion. Teams ¡°Tai Xie¡± and ¡°Yang Cheng Lake¡± were the nett runner-up and second runner-up respectively.
