Shanghai: Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) provided a showcase for the abundance of swinging talent among the Kunshan Taiwanese community when it staged its Golf Invitational for a field of 92 players over Silport's West and North courses.
Player under the New Peoria scoring system in absolutely perfect, sunny conditions, Lin Ruifu kept exactly to his impressive one handicap when he shot a pro-like round of one-over 73 to claim the gross champion honor. Peng Yongmou and Huang Xinyue finished runner-up and second runner-up, respectively, after a 74 and 75.
Zheng Chengjie also shot close to his 10.8 handicap as he would register a round of 81 for a 70.2 score to win the nett champion's honor. Deng Renqing and Lin Yingguan each had identical 16.8 handicaps and carded rounds of 88 for a nett 71.2, but it was the former earning the nett runner-up prize by virtue of his taking less putts over the last nine holes.
In attendance for the monthly medal of the Kunshan Taiwanese Golf Association was the body's president and assistant president, as well as the chairman of RBC China branch to experience Silport as a tournament venue.
