Shanghai: What appeared to be a wet, miserable golf day for the Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA) turned into a glorious occasion when the rain stopped prior to the tournament for the 50-strong field.
With a mission to foster friendship among its membership, Liu Bangpeng topped the field when he recorded a low nett 73.4 under the New new Peoria scoring system over the West and North course layouts. Wen Yaolong (73.8) finished a close runner-up, while Chen Bingxu (74.8) was the second runner-up.
Chen Nengxin displayed his prowess off the tee when he captured the long drive prizes on both the North and West courses. Nearest-the-pin honors went to Li Yunpeng (North Course sixth hole) and Huang Qinglong on the North Course third. Lin Xuchu (West Course fourth hole) and Liu Zhenyu (North Course ninth hole) each won a hole-in-two prize.
At the prize presentation ceremony afterwards, a Mr. Ye shared his thoughts with his peers, telling all his friends present that the Chinese economy had a bright future and ¡°we should work together to overcome the temporary difficulty¡±.
He compared the present economic difficulties ¡°to the darkest spell before dawn¡± and ¡°the most important thing we should do is believe in ourselves and hold on¡±.
Ye also suggested the association members meet early next year.
