| Shanghai: Kunshan Golf Association marked a changed in leadership when it hosted the 12th President Cup competition for a field of 120 players over SilportĄ¯s North and West courses.
Playing in glorious sunshine under the New New Peoria scoring system, Lin Ruifu upstaged all the men when she shot the low score of the day to emerge as the gross champion. In the nett category, it was a battle of the Chens as Chen Zhongming finished as champion, ahead of Chen Qinghuang who added a long-drive prize to his haul with a 270-yard blast on the North Course seventh hole. Chen Zhongzhang was nett second runner-up.
Other honors on the day saw Liu Lifu capture the other longest drive with a 245-yard hit on the West Course ninth hole.
The nearest-the-pin contests proved highly competitive with Gao Jinlong getting his tee shot to within two feet of flag on the North Course sixth. Zheng Chengjie hit a near perfect shot on the West Course eighth, just six inches from the flagstick. Wu Zanyuan also went close when he put his ball to within a foot of the flag on the West Course second hole.
The BB prize went to Zhang Yunqi in accordance to the number of nett putts.
