Shanghai: The city¡¯s Korean schools received a helping hand from their locally-based countrymen when a charity golf tournament in their benefit attracted a field of about 100 players.
With the local consul organizing Korean companies to donate money and prizes for the 2009 Shanghai Consul General Cup Schools Scholarship Golf Charity, the tournament was contested in sunny conditions under a Double Peoria scoring format over Silport¡¯s Center and East courses.
Son Young-ha emerged the dominant player of the day when the 3.6 handicap carded a two-over 74 for a winning nett score of 70.4. Um Kyung-sick (83) was the nett runner-up following a nett 71¡£
Other honors saw Kim Seng-bak take the male gross champion title with a 75, while Kim Ji-hyen was the top woman following an 81. Choi Byung-sun (76) and Choi Ho-yeon (83) were the male and female gross runner-ups respectively.
