Shanghai Silport members and their guests travelled to northern China over the summer in two separate trips to experience sister-club Tiger Beach Golf Links for themselves.
Long known as Asia¡¯s premier links experience, the August trip won by Xia Zu Hua attracted a small group of 10 players who enjoyed sunny conditions. The September trip, which featured an enthusiastic group of about 40 players also had sunny conditions, albeit with a strong wind blowing off the Yellow Sea.
With Silport chairman Beta Soong on hand to entertain the visitors and tell them about his experiences in personally designing the Tiger Beach course, both groups were treated to a seafood barbeque, drink, KTV and dancing during their two-day stay.
Didier Bouttier, the September gross champion, told Soong while receiving his prize that he was very glad to have played on the course he had designed with such great attention to detail. ¡°It¡¯s so challenging and fantastic,¡± said the Bureau Veritas Marine (China) Co., Ltd., vice president. ¡°I¡¯ll be back again and invite more friends to be here for this special links course.¡±
Tiger Beach Golf Links can be reached via a one-hour flight to Qingdao, followed by an 80-minute drive north to Haiyang.
