Extreme Weather Fails to Dampen Enthusiasm for Elite CEO Golf Invitational

The 80-strong field for the Shanghai Ping An Property and Casualty Insurance¡¯s Elite CEO Golf Invitational proved a hardy bunch as all the participants finished despite the extremely cold, windy and wet conditions.

With the co-organized tournament featuring VIP guests and employees of the two companies, the extreme weather did little to deter the enthusiasm, and determination, of the participants to complete their rounds.

Playing over the East and Center course in a New New Peoria scoring format, Yang Ai Hua shot a 78 to emerge the gross champion, and added the long-drive prize for good measure. Ping An Property and Casualty Insurance vice general manager Xu Bin (85) beat Zhou Qiang on a countback for the gross runner-up honor.

Yang Rui Sheng claimed the nett champion prize with a nett 72.2 after a round of 89, followed by Shen Ke Fei (72.8) and Cai Su Gang (73).

Li Ping won the nearest-the-pin prize on the difficult East Course sixth hole.

The generous offer of an Acura car for a hole-in-one on either the East Course third hole or Center Course eighth hole went unclaimed.

As the players warmed up in Silport¡¯s clubhouse following the tournament, things heated up considerably with the commencement of the lucky draw. Among the prizes were return tickets for two on Shanghai Airlines and two 42" high-density televisions.
