The fifth China-CBN Business Golf Challenge proved to be one of the more memorable events to hit Silport of late as the elite of the country’s business scene teed off over the East and Center courses.
With the 120-man field including such participants as Dong Feng president Feng Jin, Porsche marketing director Patrick Pesch, Meng Fan Chen, the vice president of Siemens, Huang Hui, the Very NEX Capital president and Huang Hui, CEO of 51 Car Net, among others, the tournament marked the return of China-CBN as it also held its first tournament at Silport.
Under sunny skies, the tournament proved an event from the start as Porsche was offering test drives of its 911 Targa 4S and new Panamera 4 models prior to tee off. The luxury carmaker also pushed its brand message on-course when a Carrera Cabriolet 911, valued at 1.72 million RMB, was offered for a hole-in-one, but also, went unclaimed.
Gao Hua proved the best player on the day as the 2.4 handicap shot a 78 under the New New Peoria scoring system to claim the gross champion honor, one stroke ahead of Liu Ji Dong. Tang Yao Qi was second runner-up, three strokes off the pace.
Gu Ying Chun claimed the nett champion prize as the 18 handicap shot a 90 for a nett 72, followed by Zhou Dong Shi (nett 73.2) and Chen Xiao Dong (nett 73.4).
Also recognized on the day was Xu Jun who took the long drive, and Sun Li Zhong who claimed the nearest-the-pin.
At the ceremony following the golf, the guests had the opportunity to win prizes such as a Shanghai-New York business-class ticket courtesy of American Airlines, a Thailand golf tour, Swiss watches, champagne and coupons for five-star hotel accommodation, among others.
