Mercedes Trophy 2010 Shines with Memorable Silport Finale

Shanghai: In preparation for the final of its Mercedes Trophy 2010, the luxury automaker held four qualifying rounds in rapid succession at Silport with nearly 600 players participating over the North and West courses.

With an aim to provide quality entertainment, professional experience and a well-organized platform for amateur golf at the highest tournament standard, the qualifying rounds did just that with 120 players securing their spots for the May 12 final.

The finale proved the culmination of a year of hard work for the iconic German company as more than 1,000 golfers (all Mercedes-Benz owners) participated in the qualifying rounds, regional competitions and the Silport final.

It was the seventh year the Mercedes Trophy had been hosted worldwide. Among the authorized Shanghai dealerships participating were Benchi, Hui Star, Dexing, Hui Star and Xingha, among others.

With the latest Mercedes-Benz offerings displayed around the Silport fairways and clubhouse, in addition to a car on offer for a hole-in-one that went unclaimed, Cui Guang Hi emerged the gross champion in the final with a round of four-over 76. Yang Wei Qing claimed the nett champion title with a score of 71.6.
