Shanghai: Maritime certification and insurance giant Bureau Veritas got into the swing of things when it hosted 24 of its clients and management personnel for its namesake first annual golf tournament.
With Didier Bouttier, the company¡¯s regional chief executive and himself a Silport member, acting as host, the proceedings got off to a sunny start for the early morning tee-off over the North and West courses.
Despite his course knowledge, Bouttier, a regular in the Silport Monthly Medal competitions, ruled himself out from the prizes, leaving the colored glaze trophy going to the winner up for grabs.
Playing off 10.8 handicap, Ling Feng carded a round of 85 to claim the inaugural gross champion honor. Zhang Lanshui shared in the glory when the 16.8 handicap shot 90 or a nett 73.2 score and the nett champion prize.
At the party afterward, Bouttier, who regularly shoots in the 80s, declared the tournament a success and thanked the Silport staff. He added more tournaments would be held in future, likely on a monthly basis at the club, for the purpose of networking among clients and prospective clients.
